A few years back I read Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma. It is "a powerful book" to quote my uncle, who just finished reading it and helped me jog my memory of how amazing it was.
See, back then, I ate at McDonalds. I ate oreos. I ate anything. Chocolate, cake, cookies, brownies, bread, pasta, you name it. I was just like you! I was very confused about why I was overweight though. I just didn't understand. Reading that book opened my eyes to many things, least of all how our food is prepared. I was flabbergasted!
Slowly, over the years I have made many small changes that have helped me eat better, feel better and live happier. Going from 170 pounds to 125 is an amazing journey and it started here, with this book. It's amazing what can change when our eyes have been opened.
I highly recommend it if you are concerned about looking good in a bikini.
But mainly I recommend it so that you take a second look at what you are putting into your body and ultimately, what you are becoming.
