Do you have any idea of your impact on the world? That what you do and buy affects other organisms on this ever changing planet?
I started my business, Foraged Fields, initially because I felt disconnected to my immediate surroundings and felt the veil of consumerism culture overwhelming. As time has gone on, I've realized that my actions and choices help stabilize the global impact of overpopulation and overuse and improper distribution of resources. I originally wanted to delve into biology and "help save the world" but I now am learning to cut through the bureaucratic red tape and have an immediate and direct impact by providing products and knowledge of flora and fauna right outside our sheltered doorways.
There ARE things you can do to not feel so helpless and they start with your daily routines and options. I believe that learning about our immediate environment and making better daily choices will help humans to be more empathic towards the Earth, perhaps realizing that our developing intelligence, or consciousness, needs to be put to use for preservation of the things we don't quite understand. I believe in Biophilia because I HAVE a direct connection to other living organisms and that in turn fills an empty void that society today cannot quench. I'm devoted to helping others realize this void and show them how to heal trauma, understand their urges and fulfill their own restless, unrequited needs from an evolutionary standpoint.
